Dowyn v1.1 — Habits, Priorities, and Smarter Battles

April 7, 2026

The first big Dowyn update just dropped, and it's packed with the features you've been asking for.

Recurring Tasks and Habits

You can now set any task to repeat automatically: daily, weekly, monthly, or on a custom schedule. Want to hit the gym every Monday and Wednesday? Set it once and forget it.

Custom schedules support weekday-only and fortnightly patterns, and monthly tasks can repeat on the same date or same weekday. You can also set an optional end date if your habit has a finish line.

Dowyn handles the rest behind the scenes. Future copies are pre-populated two weeks ahead, and any gaps get backfilled automatically when you open the app. Look for the repeat icon on your task list.

Priority Tags

Not all tasks are created equal. Now you can tag tasks as High, Medium, or Low priority, and they'll sort themselves accordingly — high priority always floats to the top.

Priorities also affect XP: High = 15 XP, Medium = 10 XP, Low = 8 XP. So tackling the hard stuff first gives your Dowyn an extra boost. Recurring tasks inherit their priority too.

Smart Notifications

Dowyn now sends 3 daily check-ins to keep you on track:

  • 2 PM - "You have X tasks today!" (the afternoon nudge)
  • 7 PM - Your creature checks in on you (they notice when you're gone)
  • 9 PM - Streak warning if you're about to lose your run

You'll also get notified when your Dowyn levels up. These are friendly nudges, not alarm bells. Exactly the kind of reminder that works.

Smarter Gym Battles

The gym leaders got an upgrade. Their AI now uses a repeat penalty system, so they won't spam the same move twice in a row. They pick from a weighted random pool instead. Battles feel way less predictable and a lot more fun.

We also fixed a bug where gym badges weren't saving properly. Your victories now stick.

Account Management

You can now fully delete your account from Settings. It wipes everything: tasks, creatures, progress, battle results. Proper re-authentication and Apple token revocation included.

Under the Hood

A handful of quality-of-life improvements made it in too: dismissable keyboard in the task view, a dedicated Settings page, and various compliance updates for the App Store.

That's v1.1. We're already working on what's next — stay tuned.
